Levels and Curriculum (CAP)
Time needed to complete ELI
At the University of Delaware's English Language Institute, the length of time required for enrollment in the ELI before beginning university coursework varies for each student. More advanced students require less time, and beginner and intermediate students require more time in the ELI.
The ELI has seven levels of English courses. The table below shows the estimated periods of time that students will require in the ELI, depending on their initial placement.

*Basic courses are not offered every session.
