Philip Rice
Biography
Phil Rice is an assistant professor at the English Language Institute of the University of Delaware. Since joining the ELI, he has developed materials and classes while teaching students from diverse international backgrounds at many proficiency levels. He has created an English through American History course for the ELI and constructed an online digital curriculum for the intermediate and high-intermediate levels at the ELI that focuses on improving listening skills.
In addition, he has conducted numerous teacher training workshops, taught American culture classes, and coordinated cultural activities for international K-12 teachers from Brazil, Panama, Saudi Arabia, and Japan, and IREX international scholars from Cuba. He has guest lectured numerous times for the MA TESL program at the University of Delaware, focusing on the use of technology in ESL instruction. In addition, he has presented numerous times at TESOL, English USA and other professional conferences.
