Biography

Lindsei Pereira da Silva has a PhD in Higher Education and an M.A. in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from West Virginia University. She has been an English teacher for over 20 years. She started teaching EFL in Brazil in 2001, where she taught integrated skills courses in public and private schools.

Before joining the English Language Institute at the University of Delaware, she taught and developed a wide variety of ESL courses at West Virginia University for almost 17 years, including Reading, Writing, Communication Skills, Vocabulary Skills, Strategic Learning, Professional English, and Diversity Issues, among many others.

 Lindsei Pereira da Silva has extensive experience in curriculum and assessment development, standardized testing coordination and administration, and program accreditation. Her research interests include feminist pedagogy, student-centered teaching practices, student development and success, and diversity issues in higher education.
