Research

The Department of Women and Gender Studies at the University of Delaware is actively engaged in cutting-edge research across various interdisciplinary fields. Faculty members conduct innovative studies on topics such as gender-based violence, sexualities, global women's issues, and intersectionality. The department recently received a $100,000 grant to support its research initiatives. A key focus area is the Center for the Study and Prevention of Gender Based-Violence, which hosted its inaugural national conference in September 2023 to address gender-based violence through scholarship, advocacy, and activism.

The department's research aims to deepen academic methods by acknowledging the critical role of gender in history and culture, encouraging new perspectives and supporting novel research approaches. This commitment to scholarly inquiry prepares students for a wide range of professional careers while contributing to the broader understanding of gender and sexuality in contemporary society.
