Our Alumni
The Department of Women and Gender Studies at the University of Delaware boasts a diverse and accomplished group of alumni who have made significant contributions in various fields. Graduates from this program have gone on to pursue careers in domestic violence prevention, advocacy, academia, and social justice work.

Caitlin Kelly
Degree: 2024, majored in Psychology, and Women and Gender studies with a concentration in Domestic Violence Preventions and Services.
During her time at UD, she participated in Undergraduate Research, wrote and published an award-winning research paper, co-founded the RSO Included, designed the Birds And the Bees website, and completed a practicum and internship at the Domestic Violence Advocacy Program. Cailin hopes to work as an organizational psychologist and will be pursuing her MA in Organizational Psychology at William James College.

Maggie Buckridge (she/her)
Degree: 2023, double major in Criminal Justice and Women and Gender Studies, with a concentration in Domestic Violence Prevention and Services and a minor in Public Policy.
She had the opportunity to work at the Domestic Violence Coordinating Council through the DVPS program. Maggie will graduate with an Honors Degree with Distinction, and will soon defend her thesis titled "Reentry into Christian Religious Communities for People Convicted of Sex Offenses." She is passionate about her research, and has collaborated with Dr. Chrysanthi Leon and published work in The Anti-Trafficking Review, Ethics and Social Welfare, and the Journal of Academic Perspectives. Maggie will be off to University of California, Irvine to pursue her PhD in Criminology, Law and Society.

Fiona Earmo
Degree: 2023, Honors Public Policy and Women and Gender Studies dual major at the University of Delaware’s Biden Institute. minors in Politics and Social Justice and Sexuality and Gender Studies
Fiona is currently seeking their Master’s in Public Administration through the 4+1 program and in the future aspires to advance pro-equality legislation through an intersectional lens. They work in the State Capitol as a Legislative Fellow with Delaware's Senate Majority Caucus conducting critical policy research and engaging with the legislature.

Lauren Hogstrom
Degree: 2022, Degree: Women & Gender Studies with a concentration in Domestic Violence Prevention and Services and Biological Sciences with a Medical Humanities minor
Lauren is attending University of Pennsylvania’s School of Dental Medicine.

Jaanvi Aashka Mehta
Degree: 2022, Honors Biological Sciences, B.S., Women and Gender Studies, B.A., and a Liberal Studies, B.A.
Jaanvi will be attending Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, with the goal of becoming a medical doctor.

Gabby Lanzetta
Degree: 2016, Women & Gender Studies - Domestic Violence and Prevention
Job Title: Assistant to FMA
Gabrielle Lanzetta received the Mariam K. Chamberlain Fellowship in Women and Public Policy. Through this fellowship, she worked for the Feminist Majority Foundation in Arlington, VA, as Assistant to FMA co-founder Eleanor Smeal, publisher of Ms. magazine, which featured Gabby in an article published in the Spring 2017 issue.

Olivia Blythe
Degree: 2017, Women & Gender Studies - Domestic Violence and Prevention
Job Title: Coordinator for The Athena Centre for Women
Olivia Blythe has been working at The Athena Centre for Women in Chios, Greece, the first all-female refugee facility established to respond to the refugee crisis in Greece. “I am one of the Centre’s coordinators as the main point of contact for the Centre’s clients; women and children refugees from Syria, Iraq, Morocco, Algeria, Cameroon, Congo and Afghanistan. I am also in charge of case management for the women and giving them referrals to other organizations on the island. Most of the refugees have experienced domestic violence or intimate partner violence, so getting them in contact with organizations that can provide counseling or organizations that can assist with relocating the women to a safe space has been my biggest focus.”

Pallavi Mathur
Degree: 2017, Electrical Engineering and Women & Gender Studies
Job Title: Law School Student
Pallavi Mathur has begun her first year at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, where she hopes to combine her electrical engineering degree with legal studies and eventually pursue a career in patent law. In this field, she especially hopes to help and advocate for women innovators and entrepreneurs, who often face significant challenges in the male-dominated tech industry.
