Zachary Gurock
Biography
Zachary Gurock(he/him) is an adjunct faculty in the Department of Theatre at the University of Delaware. His research and teaching interests are focused on the Theatre of the Absurd, reflections of sociopolitical change in art, and the use of simulated experiences in education. Particularly, Zack is focused on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice programs at the university and how role-playing scenarios allow for critical dialogue for participants. Recent participating groups have included the College of Health Sciences and the Department of Women and Gender Studies.
Zack has been an active actor and director in the Delaware and Maryland communities, with favorite previous acting credits including Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (George), Proof (Robert), Assassins (Sam Byck), Endgame (Hamm), 1984 (O'Brien), A Doll House (Rank), The Producers (Max Bialystock) and recent directing credits including Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Zachary is also currently adapting his first short play New Leaf, which premiered in Baltimore in 2018, into a full-length script.
He has taught courses in the history of western drama, approaches to theater, feminist theory, and American politics.
