Biography

Ellen A. Donnelly, Ph.D., is an associate professor in the Department of Sociology & Criminal Justice and the interim director of the Center for Drug and Health Studies. She is also a researcher with the University of Delaware's Race, Justice, Policy Research Initiative.

Her research examines disparities in the U.S. criminal and juvenile justice systems. She focuses on estimating the size and sources of disparity in justice processing as well as measuring the impacts of justice reform. In Delaware, she has contributed to quantitative studies of disparities in the State's criminal justice system for the Access to Justice Commission and Administrative Office of the Court​s. Ellen holds a joint Ph.D. in political science and criminology from the University of Pennsylvania and B.A. in political science from Swarthmore College.
