Biography

Chrysanthi Leon is a professor of sociology & criminal justice, women & gender studies, and legal studies at the University of Delaware. She is an interdisciplinary scholar in penology, law and society whose research and teaching includes sex crime and punishment, sex work, and law and literature.

Leon's book Sex Fiends, Perverts and Pedophiles: Understanding Sex Crime Policy in America is available from NYU Press. Leon co-authored The Compassionate Court?: Support, Surveillance, and Survival in Prostitution Diversion Programs with Corey Shdaimah and Shelly Wiechelt and is co-editor with Katie Hail-Jares and Corey Shdaimah of Challenging Perspectives on Street-Based Sex Work (both Temple University Press).​​​
