Biography

Sunmin Yoon is an Assistant Professor of Korean Studies and World Music/Ethnomusicology, a joint position in the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures (DLLC) and School of Music. She teaches Korean language and culture courses for DLLC. With her interest in the relationship between sound and language, she uses K-pop as a tool for Korean language learners. As a part of her main research in Mongolian music, she also examines the phenomenon of K-pop culture in Mongolia as an example of transnational traffic within the context of global culture. ​
