Biography

University of Delaware jazz and classical guitar instructor Dave Bozenhard is a multi-faceted guitarist and teacher. Mr. Bozenhard received his Bachelor of Music in Classical Guitar Performance under Christiaan Taggart at the University of Delaware. He settled in Philadelphia where he later re​​ceived a Master of Music in Jazz Studies from the University of the Arts, and he has since taught and performed in many musical styles and settings. 

As a freelance musician/guitarist, over the years Mr. Bozenhard has worked and/or recorded wi​​th singer songwriter Lili Añel, acoustic chamber ensemble One Alternative, jazz fusion bands Mars Apes and Fusionhaus, contemporary big band Slowbern, and various wedding/jazz/rock/blues bands.

In recent years Mr. Bozenhard has been selected as composer-in-residence for a run of performances with Red Cedar Chamber Music in Cedar Rapids, Iowa; perfo​rmed with Opera Philadelphia on the world premiere of the critically acclaimed debut of the modern opera Breaking the Waves; and has commissioned new works for flute and classical guitar, as well as solo classical guitar, from Philadelphia-based composer Norman David. When away from the guitar, Mr. Bozenhard is enjoying life with his wife and three young sons, living in the Philadelphia suburbs. ​
