SUPPORT MATHEMATICAL SCIENCES AT UD
Giving to the Department of Mathematical Sciences
The Department of Mathematical Science has a four-fold mission: (1) Do cutting-edge research in mathematics, applied mathematics, and mathematics education. (2) Train the next generation of mathematician through our graduate programs. (3) Prepare undergraduate students for a variety of careers in the mathematical sciences. (4) Provide foundational and advanced instruction to the entire campus.
Gifts to the Department of Mathematical Sciences support a number of activities:
- undergraduate research projects
- graduate student research
- student travel to conferences and workshops
- technology for innovative teaching
- faculty research
Unrestricted gifts will be used for these and related purposes.
If desired, you can designate your gift to one of the following accounts:
- Baxter-Sloyer Award (recognizes outstanding teaching by PhD students)
- William D. Clark Award (recognizes one or more outstanding graduating majors)
- Graduate Enrichment Account (supports activities by graduate students)
- Hallenbeck Memorial Account (specifically supports the internal seminar run by and
for graduate students) - Wenbo Li Memorial Account (funds a prize for outstanding research by a PhD student)
