Research Interests

My main area of expertise is in the application of functions over finite fields to information security, projective geometry, and combinatorial design. I mostly work with functions that have low differential uniformity. These are especially important in cryptography as they offer the highest resistance against differential cryptanalysis. These functions tend to exhibit other rare properties and have been used in the study of a host of important mathematical objects, such as codes, difference sets, projective planes, semifields and Cartesian groups.
