Student Testimonials
Don’t take our word for it — Check out what former students had to say!
Brianna Fraher
Degree: 2020, B.A., Biological Sciences and B.S., Neuroscience
"My first week in balmy, beautiful, 80 degree Martinique in the Caribbean was both a culture shock and an amazing experience. We spent lots of time exploring the nature of the island, including scoping out many of the local beaches and looking around the capital, Fort-de-France."
"I can’t believe my program is half over. I already feel like part of my host family. I’ve really enjoyed trying the different dishes my host mom prepares and I’m getting better at holding a conversation with her in French."
Grace McKenna
Degree: 2019, B.A., Three Foreign Languages in Spanish, French Portuguese and English
"We had our mini-internships at various locations, and we hiked the volcano on the island, Mount Pelée. I don’t know which one was tougher. Everything, of course, was a lot of fun, but they had various challenges in their own ways."
Cassiana Desir
Degree: 2022, B.A., Foreign Languages and Literatures
"I didn’t think I would be able to deal with such a rapid pace change. I went from waking up in my own bed in Delaware, to waking up in Schoelcher and having to speak French to get through the day."
Taurence Chisholm
Degree: 2019, B.A., International Relations and Affairs
"This final week was probably the most chill. My friends threw me a birthday party and my roommate and I wrote a poem for my host family. And they cried (bow followed by applause)."
