Biography

Sheila Villaverde Salgueiro is a Spanish instructor from northern Spain. She completed her undergraduate degree in English Studies at the University of Salamanca (Spain), and had the opportunity to study a year abroad in Maynooth University (Ireland) where she created a stronger bond with the language and culture. She graduated with an M.A. in Language, Literature, Culture and Pedagogy from the University of Delaware, where she started working as a teaching assistant for both 107 and 106 levels. Now Sheila teaches 106 courses of Spanish, and serves as the coordinator of that level. Professor Villaverde also participated as a teaching assistant in the winter UD Study Abroad program to Argentina of 2023.

Professional/Personal Activities

Professor Villaverde loves to travel as a personal learning method, and encourages her students to do the same. Since coming to the University of Delaware, she is determined to discover a new U.S. state per year.
