Biography
Alberto Delgado, as he prefers to be called, is a Spanish instructor with the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures. He is currently the coordinator for Spanish 106 and co-directs the summer study abroad program in Granada, Spain.
Mr. Delgado is from Colombia, where he attended the Universidad Pedagógica Nacional, a university specializing in the training of teachers, where he received his BA in Foreign Languages as a three languages Major in Spanish, English and French. In 1997 he spent three months at the New World Language Institute in Bradenton, Florida, as part of a training program for teachers sponsored by the Colombian Ministry of Education. In 2002 he moved to the United States with his wife, Dora Marin and his two sons, Yisué and Santiago. He enrolled at the University of Delaware and received a Master’s Degree in Foreign Languages and Pedagogy in 2005.
Mr. Delgado has received several nominations for the Excellence in Teaching Award given by the Senate Committee on Student and Faculty Honors at the University of Delaware. He is a passionate instructor who uses technology in the classroom as much as possible as a means of engaging students in the learning process.
