Biography

Meghan Dabkowski is an Assistant Professor of Spanish for the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures. She specializes in Spanish and Portuguese linguistics, with a focus on phonetics, phonology, and sociolinguistics. Meghan's academic and research interests are varied, and include sociophonetic variation, the intersection of intonation and pragmatic meaning, and understanding the ideologies and mechanisms of stigmatized language varieties. Her teaching experience includes classroom and individual instruction of Spanish, Portuguese, and English language and linguistics courses, service-learning courses, and Spanish in healthcare settings.
