Biography

Mark Miller has been teaching all levels of Japanese since the mid 1980’s at the University of Delaware. After living in Japan for many years and teaching English there, he returned to the States to complete a master’s degree in TESOL and a Ph.D. in applied linguistics. In addition to Japanese, his interests include second language acquisition, methods of teaching second languages, and oral proficiency assessment. He also is active in the Educational Testing Service’s speaking Test of English as a Foreign Language where he serves as a scoring leader and is involved in research projects.
