Biography

​Fatima Haq is an Instructor of Spanish whose area of interest is advancing the proficiency of students of Spanish, especially through written communication. She teaches courses in elementary to intermediate level Spanish Grammar and Composition. Ms. Haq is a staunch advocate of study abroad as an integral part of the language acquisition process. She encourages all of her students to study abroad so that they will reach their proficiency goals, and has directed programs in Costa Rica, Ecuador and Mexico. Fatima Haq also contributes to the ongoing assessment project of the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures. Her recent work on assessment involves collecting data about the level of proficiency of students in Spanish 200, Composition and Grammar, in order to continue to enhance the course and help students attain a greater mastery of the language.
