Eynat Gutman

Biography

Eynat Gutman is an Assistant Professor of Hebrew and Jewish Studies, whose areas of interest include: Hebrew pedagogy, Israeli film and comparative linguistics. She teaches courses in all levels of Hebrew language, ranging from elementary Hebrew to advanced independent studies in Hebrew. Dr. Gutman also teaches courses in Israeli culture, including a course on modern Israeli history and culture, a course on Israeli film, and a new comparative course on Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, to be taught abroad in Israel, starting on winter 2015.

Dr. Gutman has served as the language placement advisor and transfer of credit officer for Hebrew for many years. In addition, she has been a member of three committees: a senator for Jewish Studies on the College of Arts and Sciences Senate, a member of the Jewish Studies Executive Committee, and a member of the Foreign Languages and Literatures Undergraduate Studies Committee.

She participated in a summer institute for professors of Hebrew, as well as a summer institute for Israel Studies, in Brandeis, Massachusetts and in Israel, where she joined many other professors from the U.S. and overseas in an intensive course on current issues pertaining to Israeli politics, international relations, economics, society, literature, film, art and more.
