The University of Delaware offers a vibrant array of registered student clubs and organizations affiliated with the Department of History, providing enriching opportunities for students to explore their passion for the past. These groups, such as the History Club, foster a deeper appreciation for historical narratives and their enduring impact on contemporary society.  They facilitate engaging discussions, debates, and activities that transcend classroom learning, allowing members to connect through their shared curiosity about history and related disciplines.

The History Club

The History Club promotes the appreciation of history by volunteering at historical organizations and visiting museums throughout the area. We will discuss many interesting stories and issues that still stand the test of time. Throughout the semester we will have several guest speakers that will showcase the multiple career avenues with an interest in history.​​​

​Phi Alpha Theta

​Phi Alpha Theta, the national Honor Society in History, has a chapter on the campus of the University of Delaware. With chapters on college campuses in all fifty states, as well as Washington, DC, Puerto Rico, Canada, and the Philippine Islands, Phi Alpha Theta is one of the most respected honor societies in the country. Its student members are eligible for a number of prizes and scholarship awards annually.
