Biography

Christopher Penna (B.A. West Chester University, A.M. Syracuse University, and Ph.D. Delaware) is Professor of English and Composition. His areas of interest include modern poetry, twentieth-century literature, and technology-enhanced instruction. He has written about Seamus Heaney, Michael Longley and other contemporary poets. He has also worked extensively with wikis as a means of presenting undergraduate research and has created The British Literature Wiki with his students. Professor Penna has received grants to develop hybrid approaches to teaching composition that incorporate technology with traditional face-to-face instruction and has presented his findings at several conferences. He currently teaches introductory literature courses and historical survey courses in British literature. In addition to classroom teaching, he teaches both business writing and literature courses online to distance-education students.
