Biography

Christine Peters Cucciarre is Director of Composition and a Professor of English at the University of Delaware. In 2013, Dr. Cucciarre received UD's College of Arts and Sciences Excellence in Teaching award. And in 2016, she won the highly competitive University of Delaware Excellence in Teaching award chosen from all UD faculty. Dr. Cucciarre teaches graduate courses such as "Advanced Pedagogy in English Studies," and "Composition Theory" as well as regular undergraduate sections of first-year writing, creative writing, introduction to rhetoric and writing studies, and new media writing.

Besides teaching graduates and undergraduate students, Dr. Cucciarre facilitates yearly Writing Across the Curriculum Workshops for faculty at UD, and has been invited to do similar workshops at Goucher College in Towson, Maryland and Alvernia University in Reading, Pennsylvania. Serving on the Executive Committee of Conference on College Composition and Communication, Dr. Cucciarre is a Policy Analyst for the National Council of Teachers of English, and Treasurer for the Council of Writing Program Administrators. Her research interests include composition pedagogy, university teacher training, and labor issues. She has been published in College English, Composition Studies and presented at NCTE, CCCC and Watson Conferences.
