About Us

About the department

Through a combination of classroom education and front-line research, the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry provides our students with the tools they need to help improve our world. As a historical leader in the molecular sciences, the department has produced generations of academicians and research scientists working in both industrial and government settings, educators, entrepreneurs, lawyers and policy makers. Our students have access to a breadth of opportunities that provide them with the problem solving skills needed to create new knowledge, technologies and innovations at UD and beyond.
