Help Support UD’s Art Conservation Program!

Thank you for your interest in supporting the University of Delaware's Department of Art Conservation. Gifts from individuals like yourself help maintain excellence and ensure the preservation of our world's cultural heritage from the Dead Sea Scrolls to the Declaration of Independence. With stipends and endowment-supported awards, we prioritize making our education accessible and empowering for all. Your support, at any level, has a direct impact on the Department of Art Conservation, our students, and our work to preserve cultural heritage around the world.

For our undergraduate scholars, continued support from our invaluable community of donors helps students focus on their studies through individual awards including the Vicki Cassman Undergraduate Award in Art Conservation, the David J. Toman Award, the Joseph N. Weber Art Conservation Research and Scholars' Award. Master’s and doctoral students are supported through stipends and specialization-based awards including the Rowntree Research Award in Contemporary Art (also available to exceptional undergraduate students), the Emily Schuetz Stryker Memorial Award, and postgraduate research support through the department’s Professional Venture Fund.

We continue to work toward increasing support for our graduate stipends, which are now nearly 70% endowed. This past year we also received summer internship funding from the Samuel H. Kress Foundation, stipend endowment from the Peck Stacpoole Foundation, and myriad private donations that included funding for microscopy equipment support, a gift to help endow WUDPAC professional development and summer activities, and alumni funding to endow an annual award established by the WUDPAC Class of 1977 on the occasion of their entrance into the program 50 years ago and in honor of WUDPAC Founders and Directors.

Your gift today will help our faculty and students continue to use the latest technology and practices to preserve cultural property for the enjoyment and education of future generations. Our students depend on annual gifts to help fund the new initiatives, cutting-edge instrumentation, international research travel, and distinguished guest speakers that make the University of Delaware's Art Conservation Program one of the best in the nation.
