11th ANNUAL REGIONAL UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH CONFERENCE 
“THE PURSUIT OF HEALTH AND WELL-BEING”

The Regional Undergraduate Research Conference consortium invites submissions of proposals to its 11th Annual interdisciplinary conference to be held on the Dover campus of Delaware State University.

The theme of this year’s conference, “The Pursuit of Health and Well-being,” allows presenters to consider the multiple ways that physical health, mental health, or overall well-being factor into all research interests: social, psychological, physical, environmental, spiritual, political, artistic, and cultural.

All disciplines, ideas, and projects are welcome.

Presentation Topic Ideas

Possible topics include, but are not limited to:

  • The role of cultural, artistic, and social factors in health and well-being
  • The role of biological, environmental, and social determinants of health and well-being
  • Understanding physical and mental health and well-being across the lifespan
  • Barriers, challenges, or solutions for achieving health equity
  • Innovative engineering advances in any aspects of health and well-being
  • Artificial intelligence and health: ethical issues, potential threats, or contributions
  • Social media and any aspects of health and well-being
  • Other innovative topics related to any aspects of health and well-being

Proposal Submission Instructions

To propose a poster or paper, submit an abstract (250 word maximum) no later than Friday, February 7, 2025.

Abstracts must be submitted with the support of a faculty member. The faculty member’s name and email address must be included in the abstract submission form.  Students and faculty will receive notification of students’ acceptance no later than February 17, 2025. Details about poster formatting and speaker time limits will be shared upon acceptance. Attendance and participation are free to all presenters. Due to budget limitations, we are unable to cover travel and lodging expenses of presenters.

Awards will be presented to the top talk and poster presenters.

Graphic Design Feature

New to this year’s conference is a contest to select a feature graphic design for conference materials. The RURC is seeking outstanding creative visual images for the 11th annual meeting. The winning image will be featured on the official webpage for this year’s conference and other materials such as the program cover, onsite signage, agenda slides, and other places as needed. Images can portray scientific content, be related to a student’s proposed work, or express the theme of the conference, “The Pursuit of Health and Well-being.”

The winner of the image contest will be notified via email and recognized at the conference with a reward. Please submit your image to be considered no later than Friday, February 7, 2025.
