James E. Newton Scholarship Fund​

Join Africana students in honoring the life and legacy of Dr. James E. Newton, emeritus professor and co-founder of the Black American Studies program (now Africana Studies). The James E. Newton Scholarhip Fund will provide tuition support for outstanding students majoring in Africana Studies. James E. Newton Community Engaged Learning Fund

The James E. Newton Community Engaged Learning Fund will provide support for community engagement activities as well as internship and scholarship support and serve the needs of students and faculty members of the University of Delaware, Department of Africana Studies. The fund honors the life and legacy of Dr. James E. Newton, emeritus professor of Africana Studies, and his commitment to education and community uplift.
