Biography

​Brandon M. Stanford, Ph.D., earned his doctorate in the Department of Africology and African American Studies at Temple University. His dissertation is titled “The Social, Economic and Psychological ‘Wages of Whiteness’: An Empirical Study of the Effects of Applicant’s Race, Sex, and Criminal Record Status on Applicant Review, Evaluation, and Hiring Outcome.” His research examined how varying the race, sex and criminal record status of equally qualified job applicants affected how 400 business majors set salaries and rated applicants on a wide variety of measures. 

 

Teaching and Research Interests

Dr. Stanford's teaching interests include the history of race and ethnic relations, Whiteness studies, and the U. S. Civil Rights movements. Research interests include the cultural implications of artificial intelligence and how implicit bias and demographics interact to affect quality of life in health care, justice and employment arenas.  ​
