AAP Summer Math Academy (SMA)
If you are planning a career in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM), the AAP’s Summer Math Academy in Wilmington can give you the skills you need to succeed!
- If accepted, you will receive a $400/week stipend throughout the course of the program for participating
- You will enhance your understanding of challenging concepts
- You will increase your chances of success in future STEM-related courses
- You will receive both faculty and peer support from fellow STEM-intending AAP students
Inspiring math scholars
“We are working to build a community of student scholars who can provide each other with peer support as they pursue further STEM courses,” said David Satran director of UD’s Associate in Arts Program. “College readiness is a two-way process where both students and the program gear up for fall. This program is a show of our institutional readiness.”
The SMA is open only to incoming AAP first-year students who are enrolled for the Fall 2025 semester. Ideally, participants will have an interest in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM), but the SMA is open to any student who will be taking calculus during their time in the AAP.
The SMA dates are Monday through Thursday from July 7 to Aug. 14, 2025. Students join us at our Wilmington campus on the 8th and 9th floors of the Community Education Building (CEB) from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. You will be provided with vouchers to cover your parking fees at the 12th and Orange Street parking garage, which is three blocks from the CEB. Lunch will be provided for you each day.
Parking for AAP Wilmington students is available at Colonial Parking’s 12th and Orange Street Garage. This lot is approximately three blocks from the Wilmington campus, which is located on the 8th and 9th floors of the Community Education Building (CEB) at 1200 N. French Street.
Students must apply in order to participate. Applicants will be notified via email if they have been accepted.
