New Student Checklist
Follow these steps to begin your academic journey at UD!
You've been admitted to the Associate in Arts Program, a University of Delaware associate's degree program with classes meeting at campus locations in Wilmington, Dover, and Georgetown. Now is the time to plan for one of the most important experiences in your life: attending college. What should you do first? And second? And third? The process may seem overwhelming at first.
Follow our guidelines to begin your journey as a UD Associate in Arts Program student. If you have questions about any step of this process, don't hesitate to reach out to your campus's academic advisor for help.
BEFORE ORIENTATION
- Set up your UD email address.
- Complete or update your FAFSA to be considered for financial aid. (This includes the SEED Scholarship. UD code: 001431).
- Register for your virtual NSO academic advising date.
- Complete your Math Placement process.
- Submit your medical forms to Student Health Services to avoid holds on your account.
- Enroll in, or opt out of, the University's Health Insurance Plan for Students.
BEFORE CLASSES BEGIN
- Pay your tuition bill, and grant access to a parent or guardian for eBilling if necessary.
- Review your class schedule.
- Contact your campus's Disability Support Services liaison if you need academic accommodations:
- Dover and Georgetown: Anne Colwell
- Wilmington: Dan McDevit
- Begin the required Alcohol Edu program
- Complete UD's Haven Sexual Misconduct Prevention training in late July/August.
- Get excited! You're a Blue Hen!
- Attend UD Campus Welcome Days
