Recently added resources to the Library's collection or to the guide include:
The American Hebrew & Jewish Messenger (1857-1922) (available via DELCAT) - The American Hebrew was a weekly Jewish newspaper published in New York City. In 1903 it merged with the Jewish Messenger. The paper covered many topics of Jewish interest internationally, including the persecution of Jews in Romania and Russia, and the subsequent influx of Jewish immigrants to the U.S.
Palestine Statehood Committee Records, 1939-1949 - Correspondence, memoranda, reports, publications, advertisements, scrapbooks and clippings of five committees active in the U.S. from 1939-1949, and whose goals included the creation of an independent Jewish army to fight the Axis powers, the rescue and repatriation of European Jews in Palestine, and the re-establishment of a Jewish nation in an independent Palestine.
Post-War Europe: Refugees, Exile and Resettlement, 1945-1950 - Primary sources for the study and understanding of the challenges facing the European peoples in the aftermath of World War II. It covers the politics and administration of the post war refugee crisis in Europe as well as the day-to-day survival of the refugees themselves.
A new page on the guide named Images/Media is focused on non-print materials. Resources on this page include:
Digital Collections of the Library of The Jewish Theological Seminary - From the Jewish Theological Seminary, the collections include Judaica Americana, a collection of pamphlets constituting a primary source for the study of American Jewish life; News about Jews, from 259 American newspapers, 1782-1898; Ketubbot Collection; Rare Prints; and Library Exhibits.
I was there in colour - Fred Monosson - Fred Monosson traveled to Europe and Israel to record the historical formation of the state of Israel in color.
Leo Baeck Institute - DigiBaeck - DigiBaeck represents LBI's (Leo Baeck Institute's) digital collections, a growing treasury of artifacts that document the rich heritage of German-speaking Jewry in the modern era.
This Jewish Studies Guide revision will enable the campus community to enhance their research and scholarship with resources maintained and curated by the Library.
