Honors and Accomplishments

The department congratulated our 2024 graduates on their accomplishments and announces the winners of the department awards.

The following students graduated with either majors in philosophy or philosophy as part of a double major:

  • Charles Apgar – philosophy and political science double major
  • Brandon Cangialosi – philosophy and political science double major
  • Bruno Gomez Martinez – philosophy major
  • Margarette Gress – philosophy major
  • Dyhia Hammadi – philosophy and biological sciences double major
  • Aidan Kennard – philosophy and english double major
  • Danielle Linekin – philosophy and women & gender studies double major
  • Zackie Nisar – philosophy major
  • Kolbe O'Donnell – philosophy major
  • Henry Savage – philosophy major
  • Jared Seel – philosophy and psychology double major
  • ​Dustin Smith – philosophy and linguistics double major

Brandon Cangialosi received an honors degree, which recognizes 30 credits of Honors coursework in and outside the primary major and a cumulative GPA of at least 3.4 at the time of graduation.

Brandon Cangialosi received the Lucia Palmer Award as the senior student with the highest average in philosophy.

In addition to our graduates, the department congratulates rising senior Hutton Ashley who received the department's Nicholas Freemont Plummer Award. This honor goes to the junior majoring in philosophy who, in the judgment of the department faculty, is an outstanding student as indicated by overall academic record, especially performance in philosophy, and who best embodies the spirit of philosophical inquiry. ​
