Master Gardeners (MGs) offer garden advice at home to New Castle County homeowners from April through October (weather/availability dependent).
Since 2005, MGs have provided advice to hundreds of New Castle County homeowners to meet their landscape and garden challenges. This seasonal service is offered by experienced, trained MG volunteers who address homeowners’ questions and problems ranging from establishing a vegetable garden, renovating lawns, refurbishing and enhancing landscapes, and using sustainable horticulture practices to support pollinators and birds, minimize maintenance, and select appropriate plants. Clients learn how their gardening practices can connect their landscapes to the ecosystem in which they live.
What homeowners are saying
“Time and care spent on reviewing each bed. Very precise, helpful suggestions on what to plant, what to delete.”
“Helped me understand what I had and develop a maintenance plan going forward.”
“All of my questions were answered and they were patient with my lack of knowledge. The time spent was also great!”
“Just having an expert really listen to me, offer suggestions and advice was so helpful, fun and educational.”
