Bio:
Kathleen Splane is a Family and Consumer Science agent conducting programming in child development, financial management, food safety and nutrition. Her current programming concentration is in the area of food safety. She serves as a co-program leader for the Family and Consumer Science team.
Kathleen Splane has a bachelor’s degree in nutrition and consumer sciences and a master’s degree in health promotion from the University of Delaware. As a lifelong Extension volunteer, she started her career with Cooperative Extension as a Master Food Educator volunteer in 1994 and a part-time employee working in the area of food safety. Over the years, she served as assistant to the Food Safety and Nutrition Specialist, who oversaw the EFNEP Program. She became an FCS Extension agent after earning her master's degree in 2006.
In her spare time, Kathleen loves spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren, locally and in Georgia, as well as walking, gardening and sewing! Her annual vacation with friends is always the highlight of her year.
