Throughout the semester we partner with the Blue Hen Veterans for a lunchtime event called Hoagies & Heroes. These lunches aim to help encourage community amongst our student veterans and provide opportunities for them to hear from guest speakers. 

Previous guest speakers have included Former Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel, Rich LovekinTerry Baker from Vietnam Veterans of America, and Shannon Slutman from the Global Terrorism Memorial Foundation.

In partnership with the Department of Student Life and the Blue Hen Veterans, the Biden Institute is honored to host the University’s annual Veterans Day event that pays tribute to the over 7,000 servicemen and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice since 9/11, and honors those who have served and their families.

This award is given to support a student veteran who will collaborate with the Biden Institute to improve the lives of veterans and their families on UD’s campus. Recipients are provided with an award of $1,000.
