Biography
Monica Mesa-Alvarez is a Ph.D. candidate in Public Policy and Administration at the Biden School of the University of Delaware and a Research Associate with the National Leadership Consortium on Developmental Disabilities. Monica's research follows the transformative paradigm grounded in the Critical Disability Theory and Organizational Theories. Her/they dissertation research focuses on how organizations providing services for people with disabilities implement evidence-based practices framed on the human rights of people with disabilities. She/they are a mixed-methods researcher interested in using big data to inform policy development, implementation, and evaluation from the lenses of the critical paradigm and participatory research.
