Biography
Kyungmin Lee is a Ph.D. candidate in Energy and Environmental Policy at the Joseph R. Biden, Jr. School of Public Policy and Administration, University of Delaware. Her research interests lie at the nexus of energy, climate change, urban development, and sustainability, using data-driven approaches.
Kyungmin's work investigates the benefit-sharing mechanisms of renewable energy and the drivers of carbon neutrality trends and policies. Her doctoral dissertation characterizes energy end-user behavior, the urban heat island effect, data privacy via time-dependent proximal remote image processing, machine learning, and computer vision techniques.
Her work has been published in Space & Environment and featured in media such as Monthly Electrical Technology & Information. It has also been presented at national conferences such as APPAM and UAA and has received awards, including the Best Student Paper Award from NECoPA and the Excellence Research Award from the Korea Safety Health and Environment Foundation.
She received an M.C.P. in Environmental Studies from Seoul National University and a B.A. in Economics from Sungshin Women's University in South Korea. Before joining the doctoral program, she worked in international environmental development at government institutes and the United Nations.
