Biography
Jennifer Lambe is an associate professor and director of graduate studies in the Communication Department at the University of Delaware, a senior fellow with the UD Center for Political Communication and an SNF Ithaca affiliated faculty member. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota.
Her research interests lie at the intersection between media ethics, freedom of expression, and media effects. She is particularly interested in exploring non-governmental sources of media accountability, and understanding public opinion about these issues.
Her research and teaching focus broadly on media and democracy. Her specialties include freedom of expression, both domestically and internationally; media policy/law/ethics; and the effects of media. Recent projects include work examining the tension between freedom of speech and hate speech, public opinion about net neutrality and campaign finance issues, and improved measurement of public willingness to censor.
