Biography

Idowu Kunlere is pursuing a Ph.D. in Energy and Environmental Policy at the University of Delaware. His interest lies in helping develop, deploy, and improve cutting-edge low-carbon emissions solutions for a just energy transition. He is passionate about innovative circular economy, technological, and sustainable finance solutions for climate mitigation, strengthening critical material supply chains, expanding clean energy access, and empowering companies to decarbonize smoothly while maintaining competitiveness and profitability, ultimately contributing to shared prosperity.

He holds an MPA from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore, an MSc and BSc from the University of Ibadan and Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria, respectively, and a postgraduate diploma from the Technical University Dresden, Germany. Prior to his Ph.D. studies, Kunlere worked with Nigeria's apex environmental regulatory agency. There, he led the development and implementation of tools, initiatives, and strategies that helped manufacturing companies prevent pollution, lower emissions, and comply with national and international environmental regulations. Building on these, Kunlere's ongoing doctoral research focuses on assisting companies in enhancing and achieving their net-zero goals on schedule. His research explores innovative policies, systems, and methodologies to optimize seamless, stable, and equitable large-scale industrial decarbonization.
