Biography
My research interests are focused on understanding the role of safety net policies in promoting the well-being of disadvantaged groups, exploring ways to leverage policies to promote equity, and evaluating their effectiveness.
Before beginning my doctoral study at the University of Delaware, I managed a UK aid-funded palliative care project in Nepal. I also served as managing director for the Center for Sustainable Development Research and was actively involved in the Abiral Foundation, a non-profit organization I co-founded. I have consulted non-profit organizations and local governments in Nepal on developing rural health and development projects. My research interests are rooted in my experiences in these roles, where I witnessed firsthand the detrimental effects of material hardship and inequality on people’s health and life outcomes.
