Kohei Akiba
Kohei Akiba's (B.A. '20) career began with an internship at Family First International Inc. He recorded his experience at Family First for a class at the Biden School and was supervised by a faculty member. Being able to work at a nonprofit like Family First informed his current experiences working for a public health nonprofit.
After that, Kohei became a summer public policy fellow and public administration fellow at the Institute for Public Administration where he learned research and evaluation skills that he now uses every day as a research assistant at Public Health Management Corporation.
The summer following his graduation, Kohei held an internship at Alaska Wilderness League that was recommended through a Biden School course. This experience allowed him to become more involved in the project coordination process.
