Job Title: Legislative Performance Auditor, Utah Office of the Legislative Auditor General

Abigail Armstrong is the Legislative Performance Auditor for the Utah Office of the Legislative Auditor General, where she serves the Legislature and the citizens of Utah by providing objective and credible information, in-depth analysis, findings, and conclusions that help legislators and other decision-makers improve programs, reduce costs, and promote accountability.

Abigail received a Bachelor’s in Sociocultural Anthropology from Mercyhurst University and a Master of  Public Administration from the University of Delaware. During her time at the University of Delaware, she was a Graduate Research Fellow for the Institute for Public Administration (IPA), a Legislative Fellow, and she worked in education policy. Abigail supported the work of the Redding Consortium for Educational Equity, which was created to recommend policies and practices to the Governor and Delaware General Assembly that will achieve educational equity and improve educational outcomes for all Pre-K to grade twelve students in the City of Wilmington and northern New Castle County Delaware.  

Abigail’s educational background in Anthropology heavily influences her passion for constructing and implementing policies that positively impact individuals with varying cultural identities and social organizations. She firmly believes in providing efficient and ethical approaches to government and nonprofit management that also consider societal factors that influence one's cultural experiences. Abigail’s current job as a Legislative Performance Auditor allows her to implement audit research methods that provide credit reports to the Utah Legislature to facilitate prudent policy decisions.
