The patient is a male who is 68 years-old. He has been diagnosed with sepsis and dehydration.

Differential
    Neutrophils = 54%
    Bands = 1%
    Monocytes = 5%
    Lymphocytes = 2%
    Eosinophils = 38%

1. What are potential causes for the eosinphilia?
2. What is the normal percentage of eosinophils in the peripheral blood?
3. How many lobes do eosinophils normally have?
4. Eosinphils show diurnal variation. Are eosinophilic counts higher at night or in the morning?
