you are absent or miss a practicium placement you are expected to note
that in your log, the reason for the absence should be given as well as
the person notified and the arrangements you have made to make up the placement.Continue
the log assignments in order.When
you go to the practicium you will do the next assignment on the list.

Each
entry should begin with the following:
·Your

·Log
Entry Number (Log number 2)
·Age
range of children
·Your
placement schedule including the date, time, and duration of your visit.

not go at the regularly scheduled time note this.
·List
the first names and ages (in years and months) of all the children present
(First names only should be used to ensure confidentiality of the information
included in your log.Never use last
names of children you observe or with whom you work.)Note

the names and positions of the staff present during your visit including
support people who may come for only a portion of the day (Tammy Tuesday,
teacher; Wendy Wednesday, occupational therapist).Note

schedule of classroom activities that take place during your visit (be
sure to include set-up anc clean up time.)

this week is to concentrate in the area of emotional development as well
as the I/TERS. Look at the major categories used in the I/TERS and make
some specific observations in areas you did not concentrate on last week.Choose
2 or 3 categories to focus your observation for this week. DO NOT TAKE
THE FORMS WITH YOU.
Before
going to your placement
Read the information
about emotional development in the text and review the HELP Charts in the
area of socialdevelopment (the HELP
Charts don’t separate these areas.).Based
on the ages of the children in your placement get familiar with the expected
patterns of social development.Review
the names of the children and their ages (in months).DO
NOT take the charts with you.

at the emotional development aspect of your placement.

are your expectations for emotional development for children in this age
range?
·What
opportunities are available for emotional development?
·How
frequently are children able to use these opportunities?
·Describe
the types of supports (human and material) which are available for emotional
development?
·How
much of the emotional development program is dependent upon adults?
·Describe
adult-child interactions which support emotional development.
·Focusing
on your target child play a simple emotional development game with you
child.(For a young infant this
might be looking in the mirror and talking about the child.For
toddlers it might be using faces to label emotions.)
·Repeat
your social activity from last time with either the same child with variations
or changes based on your assessment or with a child who is older or younger.Discuss
your adaptations.
