Creative Works by Belinda Thompson Orzada, Ph.D.

I am a process-oriented apparel designer. Fabric is my medium. I find transforming a two-dimensional length of fabric into a three-dimensional garment to be a rewarding process. It is a matter of taking an abstract idea and giving it form. To do so, I work from a variety of sources. Floral and garden themes, historical influences, an interest in hand stitchery and embellishment, and fabrics themselves inspire me. Through my designs I seek to express the various facets of my personality, but often my designs develop personalities of their own.

 EXAMPLES OF RECENT DESIGNS:

Southern Living: Country Roads Cape
Pompadour Revisited
El Duomo
Have You Seen Me?
Recycled Coats:  Emily Style and Mom's Version
