Lost childhoods . . . class reunions . . . Do you remember when . . . ?
Class “portraits” (caricatures) drawn by my husband of his 6th grade class
were my inspiration. Christian Dior’s use of
asymmetry
and shaped peplums provided structural inspiration. The sleeveless,
floor-length, navy silk satin gown has a sheath silhouette. The 21
embroidered “portraits” are “framed” on an asymmetrical, combined
collar and peplum. Advanced draping and dressmaker construction techniques
were utilized.
