Vehicles are color coded by lane of origin so that passing can be better observed.


When developing this simulator, we referenced that found in the web site of The program posted on the same site was used for the flow simulation of the two-lane case. Further, the scrollbars and buttons to select options are used directly from their code. Our model additionally provides 1, 2, 3, and 4 lane operations with nearly symmetric lane changing feature (with a slight preference for left lane changes) on a stretch of roadway, i.e., an open system, rather than a closed system on a circular roadway (which is the case of the Uni Duisburg simulator).
