I was lucky enough to see the Beatles in Toronto on the Help tour. I was in grade 8 I think or maybe 7. My friends dad drove us to the concert from his home in Toronto. He knew Conn Smythe and had gotten the tickets from him. After the concert in the car on the drive home, we asked what he had done during the concert. He told us he had been backstage with Conn Smythe, and met the Beatles. You could imagine our reaction! When we asked why we had not been invited to go back with him, he replied that he thought we would have enjoyed seeing the concert from the floor because you couldn't really see from backstage. To this day, I will never get over the lost opportunity that never was.
