Check your mixed vial, and if it has a decent number of adults, transfer them to a food vial. If you tranferred adults last Tuesday, remove them and count them.
For each of the days that you've counted adult flies from your mixed vial, calculate the allele frequency. If you have a sex-linked gene, calculate it separately for males and females. If you have an autosomal gene, calculate the allele frequency for the total population. Plot the allele frequencies vs. time on a graph, and show it to me.
Work on you individual project.
Your lab report, due next Tuesday, Oct. 20, should be a summary of the computer analysis you did on trait evolution, Ka/Ks, codon bias, and the McDonald-Kreitman test.
