BISC413 Lab 12, Oct. 8: Individual project and Ka/Ks

Flies

If you are in plan C, remove the adult flies from the vial you set up on Tuesday, and count them.

From now on, it looks like several people will be on different schedules. Everyone is responsible for checking their mixed vial, and whenever it has a decent number of adults, transferring them to a new vial and then removing and counting them at the next lab.

Individual project

Work on you individual project.

DNAsp

Finish using DNAsp to estimate Ka/Ks and the Codon Bias Index (CBI) for your gene. When you have done this, write the name of your gene, the two species you compared, the Ka/Ks ratio, and the CBI.
