Rosetta S. LaFleur, Ph.D.
I am an associate professor in the Department of Consumer Studies (formerly the Department of Textiles, Design and Consumer Economics). I began my tenure at the university in 1983. Prior to coming to UD, I taught at West Virginia State College and the University of Tennessee as a graduate teaching assistant. I have a broad background in the area of textiles and apparel covering subjects in textiles, merchandising, product development and product planning and international travel/study programs.
As a professor in an undergraduate career-oriented fashion program, I have scholarly interests in developing instructional strategies for integrating computer applications into the merchandising curriculum. I have experience in using industry-standard computer systems including Style Manager, Microdesign, and Arthur Merchandise Planning systems. I recently completed training for Lectra Prostyle Design System. I was a 1998 ITUE (Institute for Transforming Undergraduate Education) Summer Fellow.
In the department I perform several roles including faculty liaison for our F.I.T. Visiting Student Program, Director of Student Services and faculty director for the 1999 winter session European Travel/Study program offered in France and Italy.
